Border Shopping

Often I like to get in my old Ford Mustang and zoom down to the US border for a shopping trip. There's nothing like taking my special lady on a shopping adventure.

Well before we left this afternoon I thought I would do some research. Here is what I found:

The Canada–United States border is the international border between Canada and the United States. Officially known as the International Boundary, it is the longest common border in the world, and is unmilitarized. The terrestrial boundary (including small portions of maritime boundaries on the Atlantic, Pacific, and Arctic coasts as well as the Great Lakes) is 8,891 kilometres (5,522 mi) long, including 2,477 kilometres (1,539 mi) shared with Alaska.

Amazing isn't it, who would have thought that we live by the longest border in the world.

Because of the difference in currencies between Canada and the US - it's a great place to shop especially for Canadians as the Canadian dollar is so high right now - but I will tell you this right now, you might want to look up the border times before you go - because with the new crossing regulations it can be a pain in the you know what, and you might be waiting hours - behind other cars and trucks that want to get in.

Luckily I found a site that shows up to the minute border wait times. And if you have to sit and wait you might want to take this really funny video that I found on YouTube.
